Moto: CtS 2004: Mud
This is the "event" that gained notoriety for the dualsport ride at CtS 2004. We headed down a dirt road that slowly turned to mud. After one corner, the mud became deeper and VERY slippery. We had a hard time walking on this mud- it was similar to walking on slushy snow.
Seth came around the corner and didn't have much choice. He started into the mud and the front end washed out, dropping Seth, Mariana, and the DL1000 on the left side. Mariana received a sprained ankle, the V-Strom got slimed with mud, and Seth was the recipient of much teasing. He only dropped the bike because he was the first one to encounter the mud; I'm sure I would have dropped mine if I had been there first. Mariana continued with us for a while, then Seth took her back to Colfax so she could put her foot up.
