Day 11: Transit, Natural Bridge SP (near Lexington, KY)
500 miles, 10.5 hours.
Today was mainly a transit day. I rode through several states and into the Eastern Time Zone. Most of it was on interstate- so much so that I didn't take a single picture until the last 10% of the trip. Besides some painful traffic through Cincinnati, the trip was uneventful. Weather in Ohio was actually pleasant- in fact, it was hardly above my comfort range all day today. It's 7pm now and I'm just a tad warm- better than some of the previous days where it was still miserably warm at 10pm.
I drowned my Escort radar detector in the tornado a few days ago, so I made sure to stop by Escort's US headquarters, which was just a few miles out of my way. I bought their newest-generation radar detector and turned my older one in for repair. I'll probably sell it once I get it back from being repaired.

I set up camp in the Natural Bridge State Park and then hiked to a nearby "natural bridge", not knowing what it would be. It turned out to be basically a sunken mini-cave. There were some stairs going down, and then you could walk about 15 feet to the other end and look up through what amounted to a chimney in rock. It was mildly interesting. The hike was pretty, though, and it was good to stretch my legs.

It was interesting to see and hear how the hairstyles and accents changed from Midwestern to Southern on today's jaunt. People in the South certainly smoke more than people in the West- seemingly by several orders of magnitude.
